When you think of Manchester, you may conjure images of beaches or Casey Affleck, but Greek and Roman architecture likely does not come to mind. But take a look at this palatial example of Neoclassicism and you’ll never think of anything else.

Set on three acres of conservation land, the yard is minimally landscaped with a gravel courtyard, a perfectly mowed lawn, and a 180-foot-long reflecting pool.

At the end of the rectangular basin, find a trio of 20-foot-tall French doors. Traipse through to soak in the full glamor of the Grand Loggia, where marble and slate tiles reclaimed from Boston’s South Station make up a checkerboard-style floor. At either end of this great hall, ornately carved Corinthian columns create a partition between the adjoining rooms.

Past one set of columns, botanic walls and Versailles parquet pattern wooden floors furnish a lush sitting room. On the opposite side, silvery façades and ceilings reflect the sunlight in an elegant dining room. Though the home was built in 2001, this cavernous chamber claims an American statuario marble fireplace that dates back to the early 1800s.

And of course, what is a classical building without a rotunda? No need to come up with a response, as this manse definitely has one. Ionic columns, marble floors, and mahogany doors furnish the domed hall, which starts to answer the question of how a home with more than 6,000 square feet only contains two bedrooms.

The opulence continues in the kitchen, where red-and-gold Venetian plaster murals draw inspiration from the frescoes inside Pompeii’s Villa of Mysteries. Oh, and there are similarly standard kitchen furnishings, such as absolute black granite countertops, a marble chariot of an island, a spiral staircase, and Grecian style mosaic floors.

Because there really are not enough words to describe this Manchester mansion, check out some photos of its spectacular interior for yourself.
