While many a Googler strives to dress like Jackie O, lovers of the late First Lady can now live as she did—in an oceanside estate on Martha’s Vineyard.

When Jackie Kennedy purchased this 340-acre plot in 1979, it was a sprawling sheep farm with one humble hunting cabin. By 1981, a 5-bedroom main house and two-story guest house (with four more bedrooms and three bathrooms) had been erected, thanks to architect Hugh Newell Jacobson. Rachel Bunny Mellon, a horticulturist and friend of Jackie’s, transformed the untouched grounds, much like she once redesigned the White House Rose Garden when John F. Kennedy was in office.

Now, after 40 years in the family, Jackie and John’s daughter, Caroline Kennedy, has put the beloved summer home on the market. “When [my mother] found Red Gate Farm, it was a perfect expression of her romantic and adventurous spirit,” she said in a press release. “The dunes and ponds and rolling hills of Aquinnah gave her the chance to create a world where she could be so close to nature, close to her family and friends, and, most importantly, close to her beloved books.”

The first floor comprises plenty of areas for lounging and spending time with family and friends, including a fireplaced sitting room, a library, and a dining room, among others. The well-equipped chef’s kitchen also lives on this level, as well as two large partially covered decks on opposite sides of the house.

The second floor is home to four spacious bedrooms, a smaller guest room, and a master bed with a dressing room and en suite bath—which of course sports a soaking tub.

The lush landscape the homes sit on is perhaps its most impressive feature. It was, after all, designed as a summertime escape. An in-ground swimming pool and tennis court are eye-catchers, while smaller details like a vegetable garden and blueberry patch are less obvious treasures. A wooden “fairy treehouse” that Jackie O had built for her grandchildren stands slightly lofted in the marsh, and the original hunting cabin sits on the edge of the freshwater pond, as well as a boathouse, two garages, and a storage unit with adjustable temperature.
