Most agents think real estate is simply about selling houses.
Kathy believes it’s as much about collaborating with buyers, sellers and other agents to satisfy each client’s specific needs. Kathy’s strong and positive relationships have been built over 25 years as one of the region’s top producing agents. She draws upon experience and attention to detail as she guides clients through the intricacies of each transaction. This is the reason Kathy is the #1 individual agent in the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Massachusetts Network.
Her success in settling hundreds of families in Wellesley and surrounding towns is the reason clients send their friends making Kathy Kelley “The Name You See All Over Town.”

After a successful 12 year career in radio advertising sales I took a few years to stay at home with our young girls. The minute the youngest entered Kindergarten I went for my real estate license. After being named "Rookie of the Year" in 1994, it was off to the races and 25 years later I still love helping people reach their real estate related goals, whatever they might be.
When first working with a Buyer I like to first arrange a call or meeting to discuss the needs for each family member and discuss their commuting preferences-- public transportation and if driving, the amount of time they are willing to allocate to the commute. Then we discuss budget and I might suggest the names of some excellent mortgage people with whom they might speak to develop clear understanding of what they can afford.
When working with a prospective seller we will meet at the house where I listen to their goals for timing and special showing needs. I will identify areas for improvement and provide resources for completing the jobs. After doing my home work I will recommend the price that I believe will appeal to the target buyer and deliver the strongest sale price.
Look for the agent who will deliver personal attention, experience and location expertise. As a seller ask your agent about their experience in your neighborhood. You will want to know the agent's average sale to original-list price ratio. In addition you want to know who be taking care of you. Is it the agent you hired or an assistant?
As a buyer, you want an agent who has a thorough knowledge of the towns and neighborhoods you want. Your agent should know about the town, the neighborhood differences and issues that surround the building setbacks, wetlands issues etc.
I have alway loved connecting people. Whether introducing friends, helping friends make job connections, or helping advertisers connect with their target audience for their product. The idea of helping people connect with a home they could love is what drew me in.
Later I realized it was just as much about helping people to move on, after major life decisions that would leave their home behind.
I have had clients invite me to their homes for dinner, send flowers after the sale, and best of all just give me a big hug in appreciation and relief for having reached the finish line. The best is when they refer me to their friends. These referrals make up 90% of my business.
I believe in guiding my clients through the transaction while protecting them from the minutia and any drama that may come up during the process. I believe in preparing buyers for winning offers by educating them as to how will make their offer stand out beyond price alone.
I help my sellers and their properties stand out for a postive market reception
2019 is my twenty fifth real estate anniversary
Kathy helped my husband and I during our search for a home in Wellesley. As first time home buyers, we knew very little about the process and relied on Kathy to not only find us a home, but educate us about every step along the way. She was absolutely wonderful, with years of experience and a wealth of knowledge to offer. She took the time to listen to what we were looking for, and found us the perfect home. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an experienced and responsive realtor who really knows the market well.- V.N. Wellesley
Kathy represented us as both a buyer's agent when we bought our condo and again as a seller's agent when we sold it 5 years later. She was great during both experiences. She counseled us well on the purchase and steered us towards a great unit. When it came time to sell, she gave great advice for the preparation, and put together a very polished and professional set of materials for the sale. She is always extremely organized and professional, as well as warm and a delight to work with. Would definitely recommend her. - Nicole, Brookline
Kathy is an extremely knowledgeable, level headed real estate professional with access to everything you need to sell your home, from securing relevant market comps and establishing the right asking price, to arranging for the staging of our house for sale, she provided the resources to get the house sold. Her market knowledge is top notch, not only of the value of homes, but also of the mindset of those selling them. We followed her lead at a number of points up to and during the sale of our home and it sold within a day, with multiple offers and above our asking price. We also used her on the buy side and had a great experience with her there as well. Kathy is very responsive and plays the role of counselor well. We would recommend her without hesitation. - Dan, Wellesley
