What's your background, education and training?

Lisa has a BA in Philosophy from University of Texas at Austin and a Master's of Business Administration (MBA) from Boston University with a concentration in Entrepreneurship.

Noah has a combined BA/BS in Communications, Government and Economics from American University and a BS in Building Construction. He has worked in the mortgage industry as well so he has experience in the entire real estate process.

What is your typical process for working with a new client?

When we sit down with a new buyer, we do a lot of listening. What is the buyer looking for? What is their budget? What are their priorities? In this area, the market is competitive so we spend time educating the buyer on market conditions and we discuss scenarios. Driving them to different neighborhoods so that he/she is able to really focus on specific wants is very important. And then, we hit the market, view properties, change course, if needed and pursue the end goal- the most ideal house for the buyer!

In working with a new seller, there is also a lot of listening and education that happens. Listening for emotional connections to the home which can color a transaction is important. Logistical information such as timelines and dates is also essential. The seller usually needs some education regarding the current market conditions and where his/her house fits into the market. We need to create a marketing plan that fits the client's needs and proceed to market. Explaining the steps in a logical and clear manner can eliminate some of the stress of the process. Lots of empathy and understanding is important because not all moves are for happy reasons.

This job requires a lot of listening, understanding and heart. Buying or selling a home is a big deal, oftentimes the biggest asset that a person will own. It is exciting to be a part of that process!

What advice would you give a client looking to find a provider in your specialty?

My advice to clients is to find someone that they trust. An agent's knowledge of the market and off market properties is very important for buyers. Is your agent "in the know" and proactive or just someone who responds? This is a tough market and clients needs to know that their agent is working hard for them. A home is most likely, their biggest financial asset and there should be respect for that. We try to be conservative in our pricing and deliberate if we need to do price drops. An agent can't be cavalier in this manner as it is someone's investment and life wrapped into this sale. Additionally, clients need to feel like their agent shares their goals for purchasing or selling. Clients should be able to sense the authenticity of their agent. Lastly, clients should like their agent! This is a process and will take time. Clients will be in constant communication with their agent and there should be a nice relationship. We have been invited to clients' homes for dinner, invited to baby namings and 1st birthday parties. You enter into a special relationship.

What inspired your passion for your profession?

Since Noah was born and raised in Newton and Lisa was born and raised in Canton and Wellesley, we are knowledgeable about the area. We love working with clients looking to relocate to the area and have firsthand knowledge of the necessary and most often requested information- commutes, public school systems, private schools, access to healthcare providers and more This allows us to put our clients at ease and focus on satisfying their most important needs. There is nothing better than being a part of a family setting down roots and building a life!

What services are you most excited to offer?

We are excited to be partnering with luxury builders and contractors that can take a client's dreams from a barren lot of land to a gorgeous, showplace or from a home in need of love to a stunning dream home. We also have a rolodex full of partners for our clients- architects, mortgage folks, insurance companies, lawyers, contractors, painters, stagers, designers and more!

What is the best reaction you’ve ever received from a client?

We recently received a video from a little one (less than 2 years old) saying our names! We become part of the family and miss spending time with clients who become friends. Holding babies and helping little ones transition to new lives is a fun part of our job, especially as we have 2 teenagers now! We have attended naming ceremonies, 1st birthday parties, dinner parties made in our honor, barbecues and more. Seeing the holiday cards arrive during the month of December is an especially fun time.

What makes your business stand apart?

We are a team and a couple. We are parents of teenagers and lifelong residents of Metro Boston. We treat everyone as we like to be treated and we listen. In a world that is so constantly busy, we try to listen to our clients and focus in on them. We are available and work hard on their behalf. We also go beyond the basic needs of an agent- we manage the process fully without letting any details pass without double and triple checking so that our clients do not have to.

Noah has been in the business for 30 years and Lisa has been in the business for 16 years.
