After graduating from UMASS Amherst with a degree in hospitality management, I decided to pursue my lifelong passion- real estate. I started in 2000 as a solo agent and quickly called myself "Suzanne & Company" before there was even an "& Company"! And now, here I am 19 years later with a team of 11 and growing. My success is directly attributed to my absolute love for all things real estate. Seriously, I'm obsessed with it, from the client relationships to the market reports to the staging & design and beyond. I've surrounded myself with a powerhouse team of women who all have a designated area of expertise on the team, strengthening our service level. We bought our first place right out of college, and along the way have flipped houses and we are currently 9 years into renovating our forever house- an old farmhouse with barn on 6 acres which we lovingly call "Someday Farm"- someday it will be nice. I am passionate about helping clients to achieve their own real estate goals, and love consulting with clients about home renovations and investments. I have a team of people who support me! We each have our strengths and areas of expertise to bring the clients the best service to make a listing successful. I meet with potential sellers twice. Some think that's too much time, but I find it valuable to truly discover the client's needs and build as much rapport as I can before presenting them with a price and marketing plan. Once we are selected to represent them, my team kicks it into high gear, organizing staging, photoshoots, etc. We have a Seller Proven Process that we proudly follow from pre-listing to closing ensuring that every client gets the best experience. We have a buyer team that solely works with buyers, creating hyper-focused experts in the industry that always put the consumers needs first.
#1 You wouldn't hire a part-time doctor or surgeon, so don't hire a part-time agent! Also, I think some people are in search of a discount broker to sell their home, we bring tremendous value to our clients, those who discount or provide you with a gimmicky pitch to land you as a client - do not have the years of experience and level of service we have. And personality matters! This is a high-caliber business relationship, you need to want to work with this person, have trust that they will do the right thing for you and guide you the best way they know how! This is exactly why I only work with sellers and my buyer agents only work with buyers, so that there are no muddy waters - my client's needs are always my priority.
Inspired by my realtor grandfather, I began showing an interest in real estate at a very young age. Instead of playing house or teacher, I collected one of my father’s discarded briefcases as well as an obsolete "pink rotary telephone" from the 1970’s and would pretend to operate my own real estate business! In the summer I would ride my bicycle to nearby open houses go through local real estate ad books that I would collect during our family’s summer outings.
One of our greatest uniques is that the listing agents ONLY work with sellers and the buyer agents ONLY work with buyers! The worlds are so different, so it's great that we are each focused in our area of expertise, offering the greatest level of service to our clients! Another strength of ours is our design & staging service. We have some incredibly talented people on our team with an eye for design! We own over $100k in staging inventory to highlight our listings. Also, we work closely with contractors on design plans and finishes.
There are honestly so many over the years, it's extremely humbling. I can site 2 this year that personally made me very proud. A client that we have helped over the past 6 years made a hard transition- she was a young widow, and it was very difficult to consider selling the family home and downsizing- but we crafted a careful plan while never pressuring her...and she was so grateful she wrote us the most beautiful letter, dropped plates of her famous homemade cake, and nicknamed me "Bedford Ray of Sunshine". Another set of clients recently "right sized" to a condo closer to the city and had me and the buyer agent over for dinner at the new place- and they teared up when expressing how happy they were! They also shared some amazing wine with us, so I guess cake and wine make me feel good!
I know I keep saying it but my team! Our mission and purpose are to develop people's futures. We don't just "sell your home" or "find you a home" - we guide you, we cater to your needs as a client and manage our Suzanne & Company Proven Process around your desired outcome. Having a team dedicated to their strengths allows the agents and I to be out in the field working with clients, which is what we do best! Networking and connecting people is one of my passions - this really elevates my sphere and allows me some great opportunities when we are partnering with clients and vendors. Someday I would love to be a part of a restaurant or something in the hospitality industry- bringing people together and creating memories is what I live for. We have a teeny cottage on the Cape, our happy place, and we love boating, exploring the coast, going antiquing and working outside in the yard. We love a good hike and travel is my favorite thing ever. I am also getting into horseback through my 11 year old daughter- and we have an energetic dog, a German Shorthaired Pointer.
