Keeping track of Boston’s dining scene can feel almost as daunting as completing the Eagle Deli’s Challenge Burger. Chowder scours the internet for the latest news on what’s coming, what’s closing, and who’s on Iron Chef.

Closing
The North End’s La Brace has closed, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. The site also reports that Coolidge Corner sushi joint Takeshima shut its doors and reopened as Blue Ocean, which has a similar menu. Thank God another sushi place replaced Takeshima. That way Brookline will continue to be well on its way to 17th sushi restaurant.

Chain dining aficionados will be sad to learn that the Chili’s in the Copley Place Mall has gone to that great fajita skillet in the sky. Mall representatives wouldn’t tell Boston Menu Pages what will fill the vacancy, but there’s always hope for another Margarita’s.

Opening
We are always on board for a new place to get our fill of carbs. Tatte opened in what was once the Savoy Bakery on Beacon Street in Brookline, and specializes in cookies and cakes.

The reopening of Aura just got more exciting with the news that former OM chef Rachel Klein will be its new Executive Chef when the Seaport Hotel spot reopens in late May.

Finally, you’ve got another option for pre-Celtics game dining. Johnnie’s on the Side opened late last week in what was Anthem. The menu is influenced by the various ethnic groups that once lived in the West End, and offers drinks inspired by local history.

Best of luck to Ken Oringer, who will face off against Iron Chef Cat Cora in an episode of the Food Network show that will air on April 6. The Globe reports that neither Oringer or Food Network will give any details, but there may be a Boston viewing party when the episode airs.
