Repurposing Your Halloween Candy


1226352053Plastic shopping bags full of snack-sized candy bars have been cropping up with alarming frequency at the Chowder offices since Halloween. Far be it from us to turn down free candy, but why not transform the extra goodies into yet another treat?

It’s a fun project for the kids, and we get a change of pace.

You’ve Got: A slew of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

Chowder learned of these wonders a few years ago at an office cookie swap. If you don’t have the tiny miniature cups, you can always chop the big boys in half and put them on the top like a sail.

You’ve Got: Nerds

You Can Make: Nerds Popcorn
Hey, if you add M&Ms to popcorn at the movies, why not add the hard sour candies to a salty snack? This one is probably best for the under-10 set.

You’ve Got: Snickers

You Can Make: Fried Snickers
Fair season has come to an end, so we’ve got an eternity before we can sample one of our favorite foods again. And if you make them with the Snack Size, they’re healthy! (Sort of.)
