Beacon Hill Bistro

You really can’t beat the price of dining out these days. If you haven’t sampled the menu from Beacon Hill Bistro, now’s the time. They’re offering a a winter prix fixe menu with two courses for $25 and three courses for $35, including a baby lettuce salad or cranberry bean purée soup for an appetizer, a choice of slow roasted red onion and eggplant or braised pork shoulder for an entree, and a selection from the dessert cart.

Come for the complimentary nostalgic noshes at the bar, including the original Chex party mix, stuffed dates with blue cheese and pecans, and pigs in a blanket. They’re also offering a special cocktail list with old classics such as the ’57 Chevy and Rusty Nail for only $5.95. Mad Men Season 1 will also be playing in the bar every night. We’re so excited, we almost just peed our pants (Sorry, Freddy-oh wait, that was Season 2).

If you like your martinis dirty, in a chocolaty way, UpStairs on the Square is mixing up some sweet V-Day drinks. You’ll be tasting four libations, including “Kiss Of The Spider Woman” (chocolate infused vodka, sherry, and cayenne pepper), and each will be served with a matching small plate to complement the flavors. Top off the evening with the Valrhona hot cocoa with house-made fluff and peppermint liqueur, paired with chocolate almond financiers.

Lumiere

Joyce Goldstein, author of 24 cookbooks and mentor to chef Michael Leviton, will be making a guest appearance tonight in the Lumière kitchen. From 1984-1996, Goldstein was the chef and owner of Square One in San Francisco, where she served as an inspiration to chef Leviton. Celebrate Lumiere’s 10 years in the business with her five-course menu.
