Icarus closes after 31 years
Through June 30
Mon.-Thurs.: 6-9:30 p.m.

Fri.: 6-10 p.m.
Sat: 5:30-10 p.m.
Sun: 5:30-9 p.m.

Icarus, the first restaurant to serve fine New England cuisine in the South End, will close its doors forever in July. For the month of June, they’ll be serving a prix fixe menu of signature dishes from the past 31 years for $31. An assortment of events and commemorations, like a kitchen alum night and a jazz night, will be held over the next few weeks.

$1 Tacos at Bonfire
Thursdays from 5-7 p.m.

Executive Chef Bobby Bean’s selections include the chicken taco with Guajillo BBQ, pickled red onions, and orange, the carnitas taco (braised short rib) with salsa roja, caramelized onions, and guacamole, or the duck taco with chili marinade, lime, and cilantro.

Umbria the Nightclub
June 5, 10 p.m.-2 a.m.

Umbria the restaurant is launching Umbria the Nightclub starting with Prime Fridays. After dinner, head upstairs to the third, fourth, and fifth floors, to shake your booty to international DJs spinning a mix of house, top 40, and mashup. There is also a VIP lounge with European table service.

Chic River Barbecue at dante
June 7, 2-6 p.m.

Dante is throwing a barbecue on the patio complete with a DJ, complimentary summer fare, and $5 signature summer cocktails. Enjoy the view of the Charles River on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Taste of Somerville
June 9, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Somerville Holiday Inn, 30 Washington St., Somerville

We didn’t know there were 25 restaurants in Somerville, but at Taste of Somerville, you can taste food from all of them. Each table will present samples from their menus and beer tastings along with a silent auction. Two bands will also provide entertainment.
