Coming Right Up: Girl Scout Cookie Celebration

By: Alexa Cleary

Now that Girl Scout cookies are on sale, we’ve been complaining about how they’re only available once a year. Fortunately, we’ve locked and loaded our annual five-box stash, thanks to a coworker’s daughter. For those of you who weren’t so fortunate (or haven’t yet managed to cross paths with one of more than 45,000 Scouts this side of the state), fret not.

The third annual Girl Scout Cookie celebration on Thursday, February 10 will have six Boston chefs each making desserts using — you guessed it — Girl Scout cookies. The roster includes Eastern Standard’s executive chef, Jeremy Sewall; KO Prime’s pastry chef, Molly Rabideau; Lineage’s chef de cuisine, Tony Moraco; BOKX 109’s executive chef, Jarrod Moiles; Taste on the Fly’s executive corporate chef, Eric Bolduc; and Suzi Maitland, executive chef of Trina’s Starlite Lounge. Expect to concoctions like Caramel deLite ice cream sandwiches and Shout Outs! coffee cake.

Guests can taste each dessert, chow down on light apps, and bid at the silent auction on goodies like preseason Pats tickets and an iPod Nano. And, like us, don’t feel bad about eating dessert right after work — all proceeds benefit the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts. We’ll (happily) chow as many Thin Mint concoctions as humanly possible. Apparently Sewall shares our enthusiasm. “The problem is I’ve got a case of Thin Mints staring at me in my office, and I’m not sure if they’ll make it to the event,” he says.

Tickets are $30, or 2 for $50, and are available here, or call 857-453-5336 for more information.
