Coming Right Up: A Tribute to Jack Sidell

Chefs love to get together to cook for a great cause and this coming Monday, you’ll find 20 of them doing so in honor of an industry friend. Circle of Legendary Boston Food Friends will pay tribute to industry mentor Jack Sidell. Father of Kathy Sidell Trustman (MET Back Bay) and Stephanie Sokolove (Stephanie’s on Newbury), Sidell was a supporter and investor to numerous Boston chefs including Jasper White and Todd English. Those two will join Steve DiFillippo, Barbara Lynch, Jeff Fournier, Tiffani Faison, and many others at this dine around event with proceeds going to the Massachusetts General Hospital Heart Center.

So what can you expect besides the entertainment that comes with 20 chefs in one room together? Emcee and Chowder contributor Annie Copps will be on deck, as will singer Richard DiMare of KISS 108 and, of course, there will be plenty of food set up in a dine around fashion. Party designer Bryan Rafanelli has cleverly planned for some of the tables to have bar stools so that guests can mingle with chefs directly. As for the menu, we hear there will be smoky pork and eggplant meatballs, hamachi sashimi with red chili emulsion and ponzu sauce, BLTs with housemade lamb bacon, and paella croquettes–all of which sounds right up our alley. Will we see you there?

Jack Sidell’s Circle of Legendary Boston Food Friends takes place Monday, May 16, 6-9 pm. Tickets are $150 per person, $275 per couple. The Galleria (next to Davio’s Restaurant), 10 St. James Ave., Boston. Tickets available online.
