This Week's Edible Events

Every night in August – Raw August at 51 Lincoln
Chef-owner Jeff Fournier goes to great heights (literally, to the rooftop garden) for these exclusively raw offerings, available alongside the regular dinner menu. Try striper ceviche or bluefin tuna tartare, adorned with fresh herbs from overhead. (5:30-10 pm. 51 Lincoln, 51 Lincoln St., Newton; For reservations, call 617-965-3100; 51lincolnnewton.com.)

Wednesday 8/3 – Whim at Smolak Farms
A visiting chef – this week, Rebecca Newell, of The Beehive – uses only a grill and roaster to crank out a three-course mystery dinner announced the night of (hence the title). Arrive early for the fire pit, and follow dinner with a hayride. ($60, beverages separately; 7:30 pm. Smolak Farms, 315 South Bradford St., North Andover; For tickets, visit GiltCity; 978-682-6332; smolakfarms.com.)

Thursday, Friday, Saturday; 8/4, 8/5, 8/6 – Decades at Townhouse
Born too late? Just plain hungry? Throw back to the roaring ’20s via MET Back Bay’s private venue. The Great Gatsby screens as chef Todd Winer plates gourmet riffs on old ’20s originals: PB&J (foie gras and cashew-peach jam) or Kool-Aid (a citrus Russian version over oysters). (6 pm-2 am. MET Back Bay’s Townhouse, 279 Dartmouth St., Boston; For reservations, call 617-267-0451; metbackbay.com.)
