Summer BBQ with Maine Beer Co. at Eastern Standard

The dog days of summer are officially, and sadly, ending. But I’m happy to report that two of my favorite warm weather things — beer and barbeque — will be enjoying a most nosh-worthy union on Sunday, August 21, at Eastern Standard. I’ve been in mourning ever since a last-minute trip to Home Depot for propane on the Fourth of July merely resulted in the too-late realization that my grill valve was broken. The heartbreak was only intensified by the a sad holiday spread broiled in the oven. Needless to say, I’ve been entirely deprived of BBQ all summer, and the sound of a whole hog roast, fresh heirloom tomato salad, baked beans, and corn on the cob served family-style on Eastern Standard’s patio might just fill the void. But the icing on the porcine cake is that Maine Beer Company will be providing the suds — and anyone who hasn’t tried their Peeper Ale, a crisp, clean, hoppy pale ale, would do right to throw one back while the evenings are still warm enough to warrant outdoor tippling.
