Idle Hands Debuts Brews

Well, to be honest, we drink beer with them. Photograph by Anne Vickman.

Idle Hands debuted four brews at their launch party at Atwood’s Tavern in Inman Square last night. Owners Grace and Chris Tkach went through a rough spot in August when the ABCC denied them a farmer-brewer license, but we were happy to see that despite the shenanigans, the couple was still able to get their brew on.

So what was on the roster? Pandora (the brewery’s flagship, a Belgian-inspired pale ale dry hopped with Cascade hops), Cognition (an Abbey-style session brown with hints of dark fruit and an ever-so-subtle whiff of banana), Patriarch (a Belgian-style single with fruity esters), and Pandora “A” (my personal fave — another Belgian-inspired pale ale dry hopped with Amarillo with a peppery citrus profile). The Tkach’s thanked the room for supporting their endeavor — and while their production levels for the foreseeable future will be small thanks to their nano brewery status, we hope to continue seeing their brews on tap around town.
