Cereal Shakes, Reuben Dogs, and BBQ Burgers to Grace Beacon Hill Tonight

In September, we told you that Beacon Hill pizza and sandwich shop The Federal would close and be re-concepted under the Boston Nightlife Ventures Group. Turns out, BNV revamped the space into a burger joint, dubbed “Griddler’s Burgers & Dogs,” that soft opens tonight. The hope here, it seems, is that wallet-friendly burgers, hot dogs, and milkshakes will court more lunchtime and post-work traffic from the MGH crowd than The Federal did.

The standard burgers here are $4, and come on a soft potato roll with lettuce, tomato and “special sauce.” Specialty versions, like the Breakfast Griddler (topped with a fried egg, bacon, and waffle fries) and the BBQ Griddler (topped with barbecue sauce, Swiss cheese, caramelized onions, and onion rings) are only a buck more.

There’s also a selection of loaded hot dogs (including a kraut-topped Reuben Dog and a chowder and fried clam-topped Chowder Dog) and great-sounding shakes in flavors like apple pie, peanut butter, Froot Loops and Frosted Flakes. Scope out the entire menu below.
