Boston Burger Company to Open Fenway Outpost This April

Two years in the making, the new spot will offer burgers, beer, wine, and perhaps even boozy frappes.

Since it opened in 2009, burger joint Boston Burger Company, has, in fact, never served a burger in Boston proper—until now, that is. Per Adam’s Hospitality Blog, the popular Somerville spot will soon gain a more accessible outpost for Back Bay and Fenway dwellers thanks to a new space on Boylston Street near Mass. Ave.

I recently spoke with owner Paul Malvone to learn more about the new location, which he had been eyeballing for about two years.

“We are going to be bigger over in the new spot, and hopefully we will be busier,” he says. The buildout is entirely brand new, with wooden booths, globe lighting, and a large bar that will be serving beer, wine, and, Malvone hopes, eventually cordials. Check out a rendering of the space below.

In terms of the menu, Malvone says that it will remain largely identical to the Somerville location (for the uninitiated, this means standard burgers and fries in addition to wackier burgers like the cult-fave Hot Mess, which features a patty topped with sweet potato fries, American cheese, chopped pickles, jalapeños, bacon, red onion, shredded lettuce and thousand island dressing.) Thanks to the additional space, however, Malvone says he’ll also be serving frappes.

The space is gearing up to be open to the public by Fenway’s opening day in April, but Malvone says it could be even sooner.
