Tasty Burger II To Open in Harvard Square

Plans to open in Davis Square fell through, so the burger team is heading to Harvard.

Late last year, I wrote that Fenway-based burger joint Tasty Burger had plans to open a second location in Somerville, where they were looking to take over the space currently occupied by the Rosebud Diner in Davis Square. Earlier this week, owner Dave DuBois informed me that the plans to head to the Rosebud fell through.

While the preservation of the Rosebud Diner may seem like great news for diehard fans of the iconic eatery, there’s still good news for Cambridge-based burger fans, too. Instead opening a second location in Davis Square, DuBois told me he’ll be opening the second Tasty outpost at 40 JFK Street in Harvard Square, and he hopes Tasty II will open by mid-to-late summer. The location won’t have a full liquor license, but it will still serve beer and wine, like the location in the Fenway. With the concentrated college population in the area, I have a feeling that the Harvard location will be slammed from the get-go.
