Local Restaurants Band Together for Vinny's Tip Jar

On Memorial Day, the restaurant industry is throwing a fundraiser for injured Neptune Oyster server Vinny Sapochetti.

On Memorial Day, the several local restaurants are throwing a fundraiser for injured Neptune Oyster server Vinny Sapochetti.

On Friday, April 20, Vinny Sapochetti, a server at the North End’s Neptune Oyster, was involved in a serious car accident that unfortunately resulted in brain injury. Though Sapochetti’s ongoing recovery prevents him from working, his Neptune co-workers are banding together with several local restaurants and beverage companies to create “Vinny’s Tip Jar Fundraiser & Auction,” an event that will donate ticket and auction proceeds to help cover Sapochetti’s medical bills.

The event will take place on Monday, May 28th from 5-10 p.m. in the Hotel Commonwealth Ballroom in Kenmore Square. For a ticket price of $105, guests can enjoy eats from the likes of Toro, Russell House Tavern, and Strip T’s, plus a pair of drink vouchers, participation in a live auction, and the knowledge that they are supporting a great cause for a local friend in need.

Click here for the full list of participating restaurants (along with ticket information, a photo gallery of Sapochetti, and all of the fundraiser details).

If you can’t make it to the event but still want to help out, you can donate to the fund online.
