Salem's 3Potato4 to Expand to Boston

The company's baked answer to pommes frites may be heading to Boston proper soon.

Salem has been binging on potatoes since this May, when outer space-themed fry shop 3Potato4 launched onto the scene (see what we did there?) with cones of thick baked fries and dipping sauces like pesto mayo, Thai chile sauce, and curry ketchup. And according to an email from owner Guenevere Blanchard, the fry shop will be headed to Boston soon, with potential outposts at the Prudential Center and in the W Hotel in the Theater District.

While in Boston we’ve got a frites shop in Belgian-style spot Saus (which serves Belgian waffle sundaes, beer floats, and savory fare like veggie croquette sandwiches in addition to their deep-fried frites), 3Potato4 is fries-only, and with a more health-minded concept: the potatoes used are 100% organic, baked instead of fried, and the company has a goal of trying to relaunch the humble spud as a superfood (the website touts the potato for “its merits as an anti-oxidant, a mega-doser of vitamin-A, more potassium than a banana, and as 56% of your daily vitamin-C”). Plus, the more the merrier, right?

Blanchard also tells us that 3Potato4 has ambitions beyond Boston, even, with potential expansions in New Orleans, Las Vegas, and New York. We’ll keep you posted when we get a more specific timeline; in the meantime, check out the snack-worthy menu below.
