Bon Me's Pop-Up Picnic Returns with a West Bridge Collaboration

The two eateries will take over Rings Fountain on August 29.

Head to Rings Fountain on August 29 for Bon Me and West Bridge’s picnic pop-up.

On Wednesday, August 29, Bon Me will be partnering with West Bridge (the truck’s soon-to-be neighbor, as the truck is going brick-and-mortar in the same Kendall Square complex) for their second summer dinnertime Picnic Pop-Up, taking place from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the Rings Fountain on the Rose Kennedy Greenway.

Bon Me has been serving creative takes on traditional Vietnamese dishes since the husband and wife team founded their business in 2010. Following their non-traditional methods, Bon Me’s head chef Alison Fong will be teaming up with West Bridge chef/owner Matthew Gaudet to prepare a four-course mash-up menu combining bold, fresh, and fun Vietnamese flavors with french sophistication and New England comfort. Vegetarian options are also available.

Diners can expect plenty of outdoor seating – and, as the event title suggests, picnic blankets will be available upon request. With over a hundred diners in attendance at the previous Picnic Pop-Up (with popular Inman Square restaurant East by Northeast), it is strongly encouraged to buy a ticket in advance. On top of ensuring the perfect picnic spot, ordering a ticket in advance will only cost $15, saving you a couple of bucks off the $18 day-of price.

With a mobile business, Bon Me uses social media to keep in touch with customers, and their recent campaign offers perks for participation. If you follow @bonme on twitter and tweet #RingsPicnic – you could win free tickets to the event. —Rachel Amico
