Jeff Fournier of 51 Lincoln to Open Waban Kitchen in… Waban!
Jeff Fournier is a busy guy. In addition to working on Liquid Art House, an art gallery/restaurant hybrid in Back Bay, the 51 Lincoln chef has another new spot up his sleeve: Waban Kitchen, to open late this fall in—you guessed it—Waban, on 1649 Beacon Street in the former Kouzina space.
The menu promises a focus on sustainability, with simple, New American dishes like five-spice roast chicken served alongside fermented black garlic-laced mashed potatoes, plus a rigatoni Bolognese that you’ll recognize if you frequent Fournier’s Newton 51 Lincoln. Exposed brick walls, butcher block tables, and a 14-seat bar made from reclaimed wood aim to lend a “rustic” vibe, per the release. There will be 30 beers available by the bottle, plus large-format brew offerings too.
Complete with all the buzzwords of the moment, Waban Kitchen should fit in quite nicely in the Newton area, which has also gained promising additions like the newly-opened Farmstead Table as well as Sycamore, coming soon from Ten Tables Cambridge chef David Punch.
