Area Four Rolls Out a Hot Dog Cart in Kendall Square

Now open, the cart serves up $4 dogs to on-the-go folks in the area.

As a cheap, on-the-fly option for the many professionals in the Kendall Square area, cafe-meets-restaurant Area Four has debuted a hot dog cart, stationed outside of the restaurant Mon.-Fri. from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

They’re not just any hot dogs, of course. Chef Michael Leviton has managed to make the cart the only spot on the East Coast to find BN Ranch grass-fed, all-beef hot dogs, and they’re topped with goods like pickled banana pepper relish and jalapeno-pineapple relish. (Plus, the mascot is a mustachioed, bespectacled frank riding a penny farthing bike, which officially makes these the hipsteriest hot dogs in town).

Despite the fancy trappings, they’re still affordable for those seeking a quick fix, at $4 a pop.
