Cocktails For a Cause

The Hawthorne is offering cocktails and taqueria fare in support of the Anti-Defamation League.

For one night only, The Hawthorne is partnering with the Anti-Defamation League to raise funds for the World of Difference Institute, a leading provider in anti-bias education. On the evening of March 24, the $20 price of admission will get you Latin-inspired food provided by El Pelon Taqueria and The Hawthorne kitchen staff, as well as Eastern Standard bartender Naomi Levy’s award-winning Guayaba Arabica cocktail.

The Guayaba Arabica is Levy’s winning cocktail entry in the Bacardi Legacy competition, which incorporates flavors from the Caribbean and the Middle East. Helping tend bar will be Alden & Harlow’s Seth Friedus and Silvertone’s Josh Childs.

The Anti-Defamation League’s A World of Difference (AWOD) campaign was founded in Boston in 1985 as a grassroots initiative to increase public awareness of prejudice and to mobilize residents to challenge all forms of bigotry in their homes, schools, workplaces and communities. Institute has expanded to 26 cities in the United States and 11 countries overseas and has provided anti-bias and diversity education training programs to more than 450,000 educators and impacted over 36 million students.

  • ¾  oz Coffee Scented Simple Syrup
  • ¾  oz Lime Juice
  • 3 cilantro leaves
  • pinch salt
  • Garnished with grated espresso bean.
