Bao Nation Set to Open in Central Square

Get your hands on a crispy fried duck or caramel-bacon bao.

One World Cuisine, the restaurant group behind Diva, Kashmir, Mantra, and Bukhara Indian Bistro, will soon be opening Bao Nation at the end of May.The fast-casual restaurant, located in the back of Libby’s Liquors in Central Square, will focus on Asian bun sandwiches and dumplings.

Bao Nation’s traditional Taiwanese Gua Bao bun sandwich comes in 10 different varieties with toppings such as pork belly, crispy fried duck, yogurt-marinated chicken, and grilled calamari. There’s even dessert baos like the caramel bacon bao with peanut brittle, applewood smoked bacon, dehydrated milk, and a chocolate dusted bun. A selection of house-made steamed dumplings and bubble teas will be range from $3 to $7. Bao Nation will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
