In late October, Somerville’s Posto unveiled its very own food truck focused on Neapolitan-style pies and tiramisu. Due to its late launch, it’s been limited to business parks around Waltham and the occasional food truck event, such as Night Shift Brewing’s Halloween party. But today marked its first entree into Boston proper, as Posto secured a permanent Friday lunch spot in front of City Hall Plaza.

Posto’s mobile menu includes staples like a margherita pizza, the Calabrese with pepperoni, the Zucca with butternut squash and pancetta, and several others. Owner Joe Cassinelli says the truck is currently under consideration for a Tuesday and Thursday space at the Rose Kennedy Greenway. He’s also going to be entering the December drawing for additional locations within the Boston area in 2015.

Even more interesting though, Cassinelli admitted that the restaurant is building its second brick and mortar location. If you visited the Posto truck in Waltham, you were probably looking at its future home.

“We’ve been parking in Waltham on Wednesdays. We’re near where the new Posto is being built on Third Avenue. So we’ve floating around Third, Fourth, and Fifth Avenue. We’re just using it to promote Posto,” Cassinelli says.

Boston Restaurant Talk has reported that the Posto Waltham location will be at 10 CityPoint near Exit 27. There’s no confirmation yet on its actual address and its opening is still to be determined. Stay tuned for more details.
