Prune’s Gabrielle Hamilton at the Brattle Tonight

Gabrielle Hamilton, acclaimed restaurant owner, columnist, and author of New York Times bestselling memoir, Blood, Bones, & Butter, will be in Boston tonight in support of her eagerly anticipated cookbook, Prune. Joining Hamilton at the Harvard Book Store event will be Joanne Chang, the owner of Flour Bakery + Café, who will help lead the discussion on Hamilton’s debut cookbook.
The self-taught, James Beard Award–winning chef opened Prune on New York’s Lower East Side 15 years ago to great acclaim. At Prune, Hamilton combines elements of home cooking along with elevated American cuisine, all of which is captured in her new book. Written in Hamilton’s distinct voice, Prune includes more than with more than 250 recipes, hundreds of color photographs, and even a chapter entitled “Garbage”—smart ways to repurpose foods that might have hit the garbage or stockpot in other restaurant kitchens, but are turned into appetizing bites and notions at Prune.
