Brunch is officially back at Centre Street Cafe. Once the biggest draw under former owner Felicia Sanchez, the newly re-imagined Jamaica Plain eatery has instead focused on dinner (and recently lunch) service since opening in October. Now executive chef Brian Rae is ready to resurrect the restaurant’s former brunch legacy, when it begins service this Sunday, December 14.

Rae and sous chef Stephen Marcaurelle have recreated the brunch experience to include dishes in the spirit of the restaurant’s former ownership, like the “Truckstop Breakfast” and huevos Mexicanos. The duo has also added their own culinary spin with items like their house-made raspberry jelly doughnut, grilled oysters with hollandaise sauce, and a kefir lime smoothie with pineapple, banana, and kale. Other classic Centre Street dishes that have been updated with Rae’s Italian bent include pancakes and omelets del giorno, and eggs benedict with mortadella. Mimosas and bellinis are new additions to the beverage menu, as well.
