Since opening its first trailblazing seafood spot in Kenmore Square back in 2010, chef Jeremy Sewall and the team behind Island Creek Oyster bar announced it will open a second location out in the suburbs in Burlington.

The new venue will be located in The District, a multi-phase redevelopment expecting to revamp a 13-building complex into what’s described as a “walkable, urban-style destination with amenities.” New York-based architects Bentel & Bentel, who spearheaded design work on several restaurants in New York City, will develop the interior design.

“We can’t wait to become a part of Burlington’s thriving food community and to highlight the incredible farmers and fisherman that work with us to create our market-driven menu,” Sewall said in a release.

Sewall’s Island Creek partners, Skip Bennett, Garrett Harker and Shore Gregory, are also working on the new outpost. Mixologist Jackson Cannon will oversee the cocktail and drinks program.

The Burlington location of Island Creek Oyster Bar is slated to open in 2016.
