Unseasonal weather be damned: Boston is making summer happen, whether summer likes it or not. Leading the charge is Somerville’s Bantam Cider, with their Big Summer Kickoff. Bantam turns three years old this month, and as part of their birthday festivities, they’re celebrating the debut of the Americain: a farmhouse cider, brewed with New England apples, ale yeast, and Persian spices. This is Bantam’s first canned cider, which they’re selling in cooler-ready aluminum four-packs.

At tonight’s Summer Kickoff bash, the $20 entry fee gets you your very own can of the Americain, plus the option to feast on nibbles from Roxy’s Grilled Cheese and Union Square Donuts. And if you’re still thirsty, Bantam is selling additional cans, as well as a selection of draft ciders.

To set the mood, they’re encouraging partygoers to wear summer attire. Feel like busting out the shades? Flip-flops? Cutoff jorts? Bring it on—we’re assured that Bantam’s gorgeous 1,300-square-foot taproom is a judgment-free zone.

$20 per person, June 4, 7-10 p.m., Bantam Cider Company, 40 Merriam St., Somerville; 617-299-8600 or eventbrite.com.
