We said noEsquire said yes. Now it’s the public’s turn to decide if Townsman is one of the best new restaurants of 2015.

USA Today’s travel site, 10Best, has included chef Matt Jennings’ Boston brasserie as the only New England entrant on a list of 20 candidates for the country’s Best New Restaurant. Townsman is in the company of Timna (East Village, New York), Duck Inn (Chicago), Broken Spanish (Los Angeles), Radish & Rye (Santa Fe), and other dining destinations in cities around America.

Selected by 10Best contributors Marla Cimini and part-time Bostonian Eric Grossman, the list singles out Jennings’ use of “top-notch, sustainable, seasonal ingredients” and “astounding housemade charcuterie.”

Voting opened earlier this week, and Townsman clocks in at number 6 at press time. Readers can vote once per day through noon on Monday, December 7.

New England hotels are well represented in 10Best’s Reader’s Choice poll for those new establishments. The Envoy Hotel in Boston, which fully opened this fall, is noted for its “urban chic, technology-infused rooms,” as well as the seasonal Lookout Rooftop Bar. The Seaport spot is currently at number 12 out of 20. Also in the running are Eben House (Provincetown), the Press Hotel (Portland, Maine), Field Guide (Stowe, Vermont), and Gilded (Newport, Rhode Island).
