Sapóre Ristorante + Bar opened its doors last week in the Seaport, replacing M.C. Spiedo with its own Italian fare and seafood.

Inside the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel, executive chef Andrew Voss offers small plates, like grilled oysters and meatballs with Sunday gravy and focaccia, and Neapolitan-style pizzas, including white clam and bacon, and spicy pork with New England charcuterie. Classic cocktails with modern updates ground the beverage menu, with a section devoted just to Negroni. A few local brews from Aeronaut and Mayflower are in bottles and cans, and there are a number of domestic and Italian wines.

To mark its debut, Sapóre is holding a kickoff party this Thursday, June 16, which will feature local bartenders Will Thompson (Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar, Yvonne’s, Drink) and Vannaluck Hongthong (Sichuan Garden). The two will be behind the bar mixing drinks in a head-to-head battle hosted by Bully Boy Distillers, each fighting to make the best cocktail inspired by the distillery’s Hub Punch, a botanical rum that pays homage to the pre-Prohibition-era Boston. If you’re not one for spirits, a few local wines—and nitro ice cream—are also on the menu.

Thursday night’s bash at Sapóre takes place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Stopping by also enters you into a drawing to win from a batch of prizes.

Sapóre Ristorante + Bar is open for breakfast and lunch daily, as well as dinner service every day but Sunday.
