A growing ice cream company is adding a temporary storefront in the Fenway neighborhood. FoMu Alternative Ice Cream is slated to open at the Landmark Center in early July, serving up cups and cones of some of its most popular flavors through September 30, owner Deena Jalal says.

Eater Boston reported the expansion this morning, via licensing. FoMu goes before the Boston Licensing Board on Thursday, July 30. “We hope to be open right after the holiday weekend, pending inspections,” Jalal says.

The summetime pop-up takes over about 300 square feet of the former UFood Grill, right next door to Regal Cinemas at the redevloping Landmark Center. FoMu will not offer any indoor seating, like at its pop-up next door to Clover Food hub in Inman Square. There, eight to 10 flavors rotate through seasonal, coconut- and nut-based creations like strawberry rhubarb pie, lavender, and almond raspberry crumble, plus signature specials including peanut butter mud pie, all made at FoMu’s Watertown commissary. All of FoMu’s flavors are dairy-free and kosher, and its shops are allergy-friendly.

The Inman Square pop-up ends July 31. The first FoMu café debuted in Allston in 2012, and it now has locations in Jamaica Plain and the South End, too. The larger scoop shops offer smoothies, frappes, and coffee, too. FoMu products are on menus at restaurants like Veggie Galaxy and Frozen Hoagies, and are sold by the pint at Whole Foods and in select speciality stores.

“We really enjoy being in front of customers and letting people come in and fall in love with what ice cream can be,” Jalal previously told Boston. “Opening more locations in the greater Boston area is the focus for the time being.”

Asked whether the Landmark Center storefront could extend beyond September, Jalal says, “We will see how the stars align.”

Keep an eye on FoMu’s social media for updates. The Fenway location will be open daily from 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
