Elizabeth Warren’s Grass Fed Order: Grilled Cheese and a Root Beer Float

After an event in Roxbury on Sunday, the Massachusetts senator stopped for lunch in Jamaica Plain.

When she’s not embedded in politics or running a Dunkin’ Donuts care package to Massachusetts House Democrats, Senator Elizabeth Warren might be found supporting local restaurants. This weekend, she stopped by Grass Fed in Jamaica Plain to grab a bite with her husband and a few co-workers.

Warren and her husband, Harvard law professor Bruce Mann, visited the burger joint’s Centre Street location for lunch after an event in Roxbury on Sunday. Store supervisor Ida Khojandpour, who is pictured with Warren, says the senator opted for a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich and a root beer float, while the rest of her group ordered burgers. Her husband got a vanilla shake.

Khojandpour was training a new staff member when another employee alerted her of Warren’s visit.

“She was so welcoming and kind,” Khojandpour says. As Warren was leaving the diner, she stopped to chat with a pre-teen girl. “We were truly honored and humbled to have her dine with us,” the supervisor says.
