In case you’re keeping score at home, Allston is home to some of the city’s best Asian restaurants. Now the neighborhood has another spot in its arsenal, a sister location to a Chinatown favorite Dumpling Cafe. Dumpling Kingdom is now open on Harvard Ave., serving up handmade dumplings and mini juicy buns late into the night.

Dumpling Kingdom joins Dumpling Cafe and the Back Bay’s Dumpling Palace, as the latest from chef Peter Wang (Taiwan Cafe) and restaurateur Zengqi Liu. Prepare for a Chinese- and Taiwanese-influenced menu full of some of Boston’s best dumplings stuffed with pork, duck, and seafood, alongside juicy, steamed xiao long bao (aka soup dumplings, or mini juicy buns) filled with rich pork broth. The restaurant also serves authentic dishes like oyster pancakes (or “Chinese pizza”), scallion pancakes, Taiwan-style grilled duck tongue, clams with ginger and scallions, and noodle stir-frys and soups.

“We have worked very hard to make sure that guests will get the same dining experience in Allston as you would Chinatown,” executive chef Peter Wang wrote in a press release.

Dumpling Kingdom isn’t blind to the hungry students who live nearby: It offers 50 dumplings, frozen to go for $30. The restaurant’s beer and wine license is pending, but the team hopes to start serving alcohol in the near future.

Inside, Dumpling Kingdom is the largest of its sibling restaurants, seating close to 85. Dumpling Kingdom is open daily from 11 a.m.-2 a.m.
