As Red Sox pitcher Rick Porcello prepared to take the mound for the Fenway Park home opener today, Tapestry started its own game. The updates to the casual Expo Kitchen side of the dual-concept restaurant are complete today. Use the slider above to check out the before-and-after.

Co-chefs and owners Meghann Ward and Kevin Walsh darkened up the dining room and added billiards and board games to create a more fun atmosphere, Ward told Boston. They envision the Expo Kitchen being more of a pizzeria and bar.

The duo installed bumper pool and shuffleboard tables, a dart board, and offbeat art, including an oyster case repurposed as a dinosaur habitat. A totally tubular mural of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles eating pizza is forthcoming, the team says.

Opening Day is also the first official day for the 36-seat, covered, outdoor patio off the Expo Kitchen.
