The Table Will Have an Al Fresco à La Carte Menu This Spring
UPDATE, May 1, 5 p.m.: The patio at the Table at Season to Taste—aka #tpattstt, of course—debuts Tuesday, May 2 at 5:30 p.m., with a la carte plates culled from chef Carl Dooley’s spring prix-fixe menu.
April showers bring… outdoor dining to the Table at Season to Taste? The restaurant from the Cambridge catering company is adding an eight-seat patio on Mass. Ave. this spring, as well as an à la carte dinner menu, a first for the debut from executive chef Carl Dooley.
Since opening early last year, the Table has offered a nightly, four-course lineup in a 20-seat dining room that typically books up in advance. A standing wine bar has a succinct menu of snacks, too. The al fresco area will be reserved for walk-ins, and guests will be able to order à la carte from both a selection of dinner plates and bar snacks.
The seasonal menu changes regularly, but recent dishes have included Vietnamese-style beef tartare with grilled beech mushrooms, nuoc cham, and roasted peanuts; and glazed local hake with yellow split peas, spiced almonds, and cardamom chutney. For snacks, expect things like house-made terrine with multigrain toast, a sunny-side egg with kimchi and Jonah crab, warm Castelvetrano olives, and more.
The Table doesn’t have a full liquor license, but the staff is playing with sherry and cordials to offer exclusive drink specials on the patio, like a Rebujito, an Andalusian sherry cocktail.
The eight-seat patio will debut in early May, weather permitting. It will be open 5:30-10 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, with no reservations needed.
In the meantime, the Table is open Tuesday-Saturday for prix-fixe dining. Plus, Dooley is teaming up with Moona chef Mark McMann at his Inman Square Mediterranean restaurant for an Everything Lamb Dinner this Wednesday, April 5. Next week, catch Dooley at the Boston Public Market for the latest Signature Chef dinner on Thursday, April 13.
