Hello Kitty Cafe Is Rolling Into Somerville

It's the second time the supercute sweets mobile has visited the Boston area.

Cuteness is coming—again. The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck returns to Assembly Row this month, with rainbow macarons, mini cakes, Sanrio swag, and more.

The cheery van will park across from the AMC movie theater for an entire delightful day. Just in time for Mother’s Day, it’s packed full of sweet treats, including a three-piece Hello Kitty-decorated cookie set, a box set of colorful sandwich cookies featuring a surprise Sanrio character deign, bow-shaped bottles of water, and more. There will also be T-shirts, mugs, and HK-chic bow headbands for sale.

This is the adorable vehicle’s second visit to Somerville. Since its 2014 debut, it has spread rosy-colored joy across the country with pop-ups like this one, and it also has a semipermanent container cafe in Irvine, Calif., through July 2017. Are you a Hello Kitty superfan? It’s worth a visit, with menu items unique from what’s offered on the food truck—well, unique besides being outrageously supercute, like the fare from the pink truck coming to Somerville.

Saturday, May 13, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Assembly Row, across from the AMC movie theater, 340 Canal St., Somerville, Facebook.
