Saltbox Kitchen Is Now Serving Dinner
Ben Elliott left the Barbara Lynch Gruppo in 2009 to get back to the land on a family farm in Concord, but now the chef is bringing a little more fine dining sensibility to MetroWest. Saltbox Kitchen, the farm-to-table café he opened about three miles from his 10-acre farm in 2015, now serves dinner every weekend.
“We are always striving for new ways to keep our guests excited and to keep our culinary skills on point,” Elliott said in a statement.
Saltbox Kitchen began as a catering hub and cooking school, then added seasonal American breakfast and lunch counter-service, as well as chalkboard specials for dining in and prepared dinners to-go. The restaurant has hosted periodic farm dinners, especially since a half-barrel brewhouse got up and running on the property last summer.
(They will still host special dinners, though—the next one is coming up on Thursday, May 11.)
“Table service allows our team to add another creative outlet and offers our guests the perfect spot for an impromptu date night, dinner with the kids, or just catching up with a group of friends,” Elliott said.
The seasonal offerings, created by head chef Aran Goldstein, are largely dependent on the produce derived from Saltbox Farm. The Concord plot also supports chickens, honeybees, and the hops, fruits, and herbs for head brewer Ralph Fiegel’s rotating selection of house beers.
Saltbox Kitchen—which has a full liquor license—will serve dinner every Thursday-Saturday from 5-9:30 p.m. Check out Goldstein’s spring menu below.
