There are a ton of New England-brewed beers out there to help you refresh this spring, but if you’re seeking a special occasion, there’s no shortage of those this weekend, either. Tonight, don your finest tonight for the latest Fermentation District Block Party, high school Prom-style. Night Shift, Bone Up Brewing, and Short Path Distillery all have specials going on, including beertails at Bone Up. Here’s more information. On Saturday, Idle Hands is hosting its inaugural Malden Maifest. The outdoor event will have the Porch Southern Fare, Sillari’s Pizza, Fat Boyfriend Bakery, and more local food vendors, plus live music, cornhole, a stacked spring draft lineup, and more. There are two sessions—one that’s kid-friendly, and one that’s 21+. If you’re looking for something more low-key than either of those events, Turtle Swamp Brewing is opening up the garage door at its under-construction Jamaica Plain brewery again this Saturday. Take home new brews, including Toll Gate IPA and JP Porter, in crowlers from noon-4 p.m.

Your Favorite Julia Child Recipe

The PBS documentary series American Masters presents A Chef’s Flight this month, with documentaries about a quartet of founding foodies. Tonight at 9 p.m., get to know James Beard himself in a brand-new episode, while the Julia Child feature re-airs afterward at 10 p.m. Next Friday, the show features legendary chef and Boston University prof Jacques Pépin. So, grab a copy of Julia and Jacques Cooking at Home, whip up a near-Niçoise salad, the perfect roast chicken, and a free-form apple tart, and tune in on WGBH.

Oysters, Crudo, and Beer

Lord Hobo is a perennial favorite beer bar, but it hasn’t been a go-to for raw seafood… until now. Sous chef Matthew Bullock is behind a new raw bar menu, which debuted last night and will be available every weekend. Try a weekly selection of crudo, oysters on the half-shell, and jumbo shrimp cocktail during dinner hours every Thursday-Saturday throughout the summer. On Sundays beginning at 3 p.m., any lingering oysters are a dollar a pop.

These Salem-made cookies have a new home of their own. Good Night Fatty, an effort from Erik Sayce and Jennifer Pullen, has been popping up around Salem under since the fall, Eater Boston has reported. Now, the duo have leased a space within a multimedia production company’s building, which has its own entrance of an alleyway, where they will sell their “fatties” every Friday and Saturday night. If you’re up for a mini-road trip this weekend, try Witch City—and get some fatties for the road home.

Sunday Brunch at Craigie on Main

For the first time in several years, the best meal of the week returns to Craigie on Main this Sunday. Eater Boston reports the ever-changing menu will rely on the seasons, from slow-roasted lamb leg with roasted carrots and a fried farm egg, to mango-turmeric sorbet. James Beard Award-winning chef Tony Maws and team are also collaborating with Union Square Donuts on an exclusive treat. Brunch will continue every Sunday.

Jägermeister and bad advice

The Automatic is Cambridge’s newest cocktail bar, and beginning this week, it’s also the newest honky tonk bar (with respect to the Smoke Shop across the street). A new Jägermeister promotion starts this Sunday and continue weekly, with an all-vinyl, old-school country playlist, special cocktails, and Jäger shots. Oh, and free bad advice. The Automatic also officially debuts its patio this Sunday, too.
