The Massachusetts Brewers Guild just released a beer “passport” app, but the industry can’t expect beer fans to navigate their phones while also navigating their car. So, now the non-profit has an official ride share partner in Lyft.
“Visiting our breweries is the best way to support the craft beer community in Massachusetts and we are thrilled to have Lyft join the family and provide a safe and economical way for craft beer lovers to explore the MA burgeoning scene,” Brewers Guild executive director Katie Stinchon says in a press release.
With more than 100 breweries from Orleans to Great Barrington, tourism and traffic is heading off the beaten path thanks to a thirst for craft beer, she says. The partnership with Lyft will also help employees in the brewing industry.
Lyft will have an expanded presence at Mass. Brewers Guild festivals and events, and throughout the year, the ride-share company will provide benefits and promotions at member breweries. The breweries will also have coupon codes for new riders, and a pool of Lyft credits at their disposal.
“We look forward to supporting the Massachusetts economy with Lyft’s best in class transportation services,” Lyft New England general manager Tyler George says in the release.
To kick off the partnership, all Lyft rides to licensed Massachusetts breweries are 10 percent off today through Sunday, Oct. 29, with coupon code MBG17. With new breweries opening up in Fenway, Braintree, Norwood, and more in recent months, there’s plenty to check out. Plus, fall is a lovely time for a beer road trip.
