The threatening fourth nor’easter hasn’t unleashed its wrath on greater Boston just yet, but that isn’t stopping local restaurants and bars from planning spring-snow day fun. The National Weather Service has a winter storm warning in effect until Thursday morning, but that shouldn’t stop you from going out (just be smart). Many restaurants, including Cambridge sister spots Giulia and Benedetto, will only ever close if MBTA service shuts down.
But if the snow does roll in tonight, remember to check your spot’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages to confirm it remains open. The following restaurants and bars plan to be open with specials to heat things up, no matter what transpires during the March 21-22 storm, but things could change.

Like any good neighborhood bar, this Kendall Square spot will be open rain, snow, or sleet. In addition to the regular menu options, a $5 special tonight is a snow day favorite: grilled cheese and tomato bisque. There will also be hot mulled cider, Mexican hot chocolate with mezcal, and other hot drinks—and frozen favorites if you’re feeling springy. Bring your own vinyl—the turntable is open tonight, too.

City Tap House
No matter whether Fort Point gets several inches of snow or not, inside this bar, it’s island time. A “Hawaii Five-NO” indoor luau started at lunch today, with reggae music, colorful leis, indoor cornhole, and tiki specials from the bar and kitchen. Tonight beginning at 5 p.m., suckling pig is on the menu, with sweet potato-poblano hash and firecracker applesauce for $24. The decor will stay up tomorrow whether Boston is a winter wonderland or not, and the specials will remain as long as supplies last.

Kirkland Tap & Trotter
Both of Tony Maws’s restaurants—this Somerville spot, and Craigie on Main—will remain open. “It’s crazy, but our staff really gears up for this—we love it when our neighbors make it through the snow and come visit. We like to reward them with really great food and hospitality,” the chef says. Tonight, he’s making a special “nor’easter noodle bowl” with udon noodles, ground pork, miso broth, garlic, scallions, daikon, and nori. Sounds like the perfect reward after a trek through the snow.
Opens at 5:30 p.m., 425 Washington St., Somerville, 857-259-6585, kirklandtapandtrotter.com.
The new Watertown tapas joint has spring on the menu tonight, even if it’s winter outside: Find wild mushrooms, baby artichokes, and spring garlic in escabeche tonight. It pairs well with cellared wines, though most things do.
Opens at 5:30 p.m., 21 Nichols Ave., Watertown, 617-876-8444, Facebook.
It’s #WomanCrushWednesday at this Ink Block bar, with guest bartender Gina Goyette of Explorateur joining the girl gang from 8-10 p.m. The team will be collecting donations for the Dana Farber Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
