Since the SoWa Open Market broke out on its own in 2016, craft beverages have been a part of the affair. The season even kicked off last spring with the largest gathering of Massachusetts brewers under one roof, ever, at the Mass. Brewers Guild’s Power Beer Fest. That party returns April 28, and it’s a harbinger of even more boozy fun:

A new, SoWa “Beer Barn” will pop up inside the Power Station every Sunday from May 6-October 28, in partnership with the boutique distributor that brings some of the top local libations to bars near you.

Craft Collective launched in Boston in 2015 as the state’s first exclusively craft courier, and has since expanded into Cape Cod and Rhode Island. Its portfolio includes the likes of Aeronaut Brewing, Fiddlehead Brewing, Prospect Ciderworks, and more.

A rotating lineup of libations will be on draft in the Power Station, at a custom-built bar made from a recycled shipping container. The covered space—the site of the 2017 Copenhagen Beer Celebration—will also host live music, lawn games, yoga classes, and other events, while 10 or so food trucks will return to the parking lot Food Truck Bazaar as well. Seating moves inside this year, at vintage, German-style biergarten tables.

“We’ve had a blast designing our newest addition to the SoWa Open Market,” SoWa director of operations Bradley St. Amand said in a press release. “The SoWa Open Market has long been a community gathering space that supports local makers, so we wanted to build out an experience that fits this mission and appeals to both families and beer lovers.”

The market will continue to be family- and pet-friendly. (It’s worth noting that while SoWa experimented with Saturday hours in 2017, it’s back to Sundays only this year.) It’s free to attend, and $10 to park. Obviously, food, beer, any stellar vintage finds, crafts, and artisan products are pay-as-you-go. Market hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m., while the Beer Barn will be open 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
