When Boston magazine publishes its definitive list of the best restaurants in Boston—as we just did—we know many of our food-loving readers are inspired to try them all. But we also know that hitting 50 restaurants is an ambitious goal. So we’re excited to hear that the JK Food Group—the restaurants co-owned by chefs Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonnette, including Coppa (No. 14), Toro (No. 24), and Little Donkey (No. 40)—is bringing back its food crawl this winter, with the exciting addition of visiting Uni, our No. 1 best restaurant.
The JK Food Group Crawl will return from January through March. For $200 per person (plus gratuity), groups of two to eight guests will choose three out of four of the acclaimed restaurants to hit in one night, with transportation provided. Dates are subject to restaurant availability, and cancellations, if necessary, are free within 10 days of the planned crawl.
Show up with an open mind and a big appetite: This time, it’s an off-menu tapas tour, with a curated selection of chef’s-whim style shared plates and drinks at each stop, including Uni, which Oringer co-owns with James Beard Award-nominated and Best of Boston chef Tony Messina. (Of course, the JK Food Group will accomodate allergies and dietary restrictions.)
There’s a new option to really live it up this time, too. Groups can choose to add on a fresh, white Piedmont truffle, and have it shaved on top of anything at any restaurant throughout the night.
“Consider this our ultimate Boston night on the town,” Oringer says.
Reservations open up on November 12, so there’s plenty of time to line up a best-of-Boston food crawl for the adventurous diner on your holiday gift list.
