Just in time for holiday shopping crunch time, Bow Market is filling in with more food options. Saus officially opens this weekend, with vegetarian-friendly riffs on classics from the Faneuil Hall-area snack shack, like loaded frites, sausages, and sandwiches, and a plenty of house-made sauces.
Fuel this season’s gift-giving with protein-packed lunch options like “cauli-falafel;” crispy tofu sandwiches; and arugula-and-farro bowls piled with papaya slaw, peanuts, crispy shallots, and cilantro vinaigrette. Saus has sourced meat substitutes from Impossible and Beyond for its burgers and ’dogs, and it hasn’t forgotten its roots in late-night frites and poutine. Check out the full menu below, and note anything can be made vegan by request.
Saus has three draft lines for beer and cider in Somerville, and about 25 seats for dining in. (Customers are also, of course, welcome to take their poutine to go at Remnant Brewery, Rebel Rebel Wine Bar, or another communal area at Bow Market).
“Our beer and cider menu will always be changing,” says co-owner Tanya Walker. “People can expect to find some unexpected beers, always craft breweries, and a good variety between what’s tapped.”
The second Saus location quietly opened the doors this past weekend, Eater Boston reported. Regular hours begin Saturday, Dec. 8. Going forward, the Somerville frites shack will be open Wednesday-Saturday from 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m., and Sundays from 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m. It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
