4 Flawless Fall Hair Trends You Can Rock This Season

By ·

When the air gets crisp, it’s time for a change. Switch up your style this season with a new ‘do from the hair hierarchy at Salon Eva Michelle. The Newbury team gave some insight on what’s hot (or, rather, cool) this fall with four ways to liven up your locks.

Blonde ambition

This cut joins long internal layers with a blended longer bang. “Internal layering allows for a lot of movement in the hair without the harsh steps that you normally see with traditional layering,” says advanced designer Miguel Nicolau Pires. “It’s perfect for girls who like long hair, but hate when it ‘doesn’t do anything.'” Pires implemented a warm blonde color with microlights on top with a heavier concentration of highlights around the face to mimic the natural tones of hair in the sunshine. “To add a touch of fall, section and leave out the hair from the ear forward,” he says. “Hand paint panels of a deeper, warmer blonde throughout the sides and back.”

Curly bangs

Looking for a change, but don’t want to lose your length? Not a problem. “If you have curly hair, go for square layers or ask for a curtain fringe,” says artistic designer Bryant Anthony. “Fringe or face-framing layers at your cheekbones allow you to have some change, but without losing much length. You could pair this still with a color change or add some warmer, golden-toned balayage.” For styling, Anthony recommends accentuating your curls for a more defined look, like above.

Bring on the bob

Salon Eva Michelle co-founder Michelle Lee says the ultimate look for fall is the effortless textured bob. “Give it a toss and let it land anywhere to give volume and texture,” she says. “It’s chic, it’s modern, and it’s classic.” Lee says to ask for a blunt line, but textured throughout so that the hair can air dry nicely and have a lot of movement. “If you feel a little daring, go for a surprise element like an undercut,” she says. Lee proposes taking faded hues and deepening the root to add a touch of warmth this fall. “Darker shades shadow around the face to give your sunkissed skin some extra depth. Plus, they make those ponytail highlights pop.”

Pretty pixie

“Short hair and pixie cuts are always fun for summer, so leave a little length on top this fall,” says Anthony. “You’ll have more texture to make the look more modern. Pairing this cut with a fringe for fall is a great little change.” Anthony advises asking for a textured fringe if you’re growing out your tresses; you want to go shorter in the center at the brow line and longer towards the temples. Be bold with an asymmetrical approach. “And if you’re really daring, bowl cuts are in this season,” he says. “It’s the ’80s and ’90s coming back in full swing.”
