Culinary Couples Rejoice! This Wedding Venue Can Craft Your Dream Menu

It’s no secret that typical wedding menus tend to be, well, boring. The worst offenders? Dry chicken, mushy salad, undercooked fish…and all room temperature. A mediocre meal can really put a damper on the festivities, so why settle for just the typical?

The good news for foodie couples is, you don’t have to. Imagine dazzling guests with a blowtorch blazing taco station, or an interactive mozzarella and prosciutto table. Want a fusion of your family’s favorite recipes? It’s non c’è problema for the culinary wizards at Lombardo’s, a storied family-owned event venue just south of Boston.

“Our mission is to create great culinary experiences that stimulate all of the senses,” says General Manager David Lombardo. “We don’t settle for just okay.”

Tired of searching through Wedding Wire for a venue with an on-site caterer who can customize a feast to your unique tastes? No need. Here are three reasons why you should leave it to Lombardo’s.

Creative Cuisine

Coming up with an authentic Portuguese meal for a large Portuguese family wasn’t going to be easy, but Lombardo’s Executive Chef Eric Caron loves a challenge. After sitting down with the couple, the experienced Four Seasons master chef went to the family’s favorite Portuguese restaurant to try all of the traditional dishes. At the first tasting, the family said they were blown away. The grandmother even said the soup tasted just like her famous recipe!

“It’s always fun and flattering when a multicultural family asks who the caterer was….and it was our team who executed the entire menu,” says Caron.

Whether it’s whipping up rainbow “pride potatoes” for a same-sex wedding or a 24-feet long Italian dessert station, timely and timeless food is always the goal, adds Creative Marketing Director Francesca Lombardo.

“We don’t want to put anything out there that we’re not proud of, that doesn’t taste amazing, and isn’t the best quality,” she says.

Family Focus

With four generations and 57 years worth of wedding experience, the Lombardo family knows a thing or two about the business. From the get-go, couples work with the Lombardo family and a dedicated event planner to ensure a stress-free planning experience, from selecting vendors to choosing the right room in Lombardo’s to fit and feed all of your family and friends.

Luckily, there are plenty of options. Just up the stairs rounding the largest chandelier in New England, ballrooms are available with capacities from 50-800 people and, don’t worry, they are equipped with a dance floor for after dessert. Lombardo’s can even host the afterparty in their upscale Vincent’s Nightclub downstairs.

“We can transform this building into anything you want. We’re here to help make your vision come to life,” says David.

Superior Service

Even the Lombardo’s staff treats each other like family. David says that’s why most have stuck around for over 10 years, and why every plate always arrives promptly at each table, hot and fresh.

“We treat our team with respect and like family, and in turn, they treat our guests like family and with respect,” he says. “That’s why, regardless of the number of people, your food quality from start to finish is going to be exceptional.”

That goes for more than just weddings, too. Lombardo’s can cater to any event needs and even take their culinary creativity on the road through their Lombardo’s To-Go program. No matter the location, though, Lombardo’s key ingredient stays the same: your vision.
