It may seem like spring temperatures are dragging their feet (three winter storms in a row, anyone?) but Vermont’s maple sugaring season is almost here. To enjoy it, Bostonians can escape the city to Field Guide, a rustic-chic boutique hotel in Stowe, Vermont, offering a special maple package this season.

A two-night stay includes a maple-themed welcome gift from Laughing Moon, a local chocolatier. After indulging, guests can use a $20 drinking and dining voucher at the onsite restaurant Picnic Social, which will serve up a signature “Sip of Sap” maple cocktail. There will also be plenty of maple offerings available each morning in the Field Guide breakfast baskets.

If you’re unsure of when to book your stay, the height of Vermont’s maple season is its Maple Open House Weekend on March 24 and 25. Sugar houses across the state will open their doors to guests, giving visitors an inside look at the process of turning Vermont tree sap into maple syrup.
