As far as plans for Valentine’s Day go, spending the weekend in a luxurious suite at a four-star Rhode Island resort that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean sounds more than satisfactory, no? Now what if we told you that the two-night stay also included a shiny 2020 Volvo, which you will later use to transport home the 11-week-old mini Goldendoodle you’ll also receive upon arrival? Let us repeat: Mini. Goldendoodle. Puppy.

This Valentine’s weekend, Westerly’s Weekapaug Inn is offering guests the most lavish and adorable experience you can possibly imagine. Called the “Puppy Love Package,” the bundle entails a stay in the Piping Plover Suite (with luxe amenities such as an outdoor deck, a kitchen, a fireplace, and a freestanding tub) and a 2020 Volvo XC90 hybrid SUV—yours to keep along with boots, a jacket, a scarf, a hat, and gloves from Hunter, and, yes, a puppy.  You’ll also get essentials including a custom dog bed and a Harry Barker sweater, collar, and leash, plus a voucher for a free two-night return stay to cash in on one year later. The only catch? As you can imagine, it ain’t cheap. The package will set you back a whopping $113,340, plus taxes and resort fees. Although, considering the cost of the car alone starts at around $63,000, it’s not totally unreasonable.

Price-tag aside, here’s what you can expect from the experience. Prior to your stay, you’ll go through a background check so the hotel and the local breeders it works with can ensure you’re fit to parent a pup. Next, you’ll let the hotel know whether you’d like a male or a female dog, as well as share any other preferences for your new furry friend such as a light- or a dark-brown coat. When you arrive, the inn’s staff will be waiting to greet you in the lobby with your new puppy. After check-in, your itinerary will include a complimentary walk accompanied by the hotel’s naturalist at a private beach or in a dog-friendly wooded area, a custom private dinner for you and your dog created by the inn’s executive chef, plus daily in-room breakfast (again, pup included).

According to the Weekapaug, no one has booked the extravagant special quite yet despite multiple inquiries. So hey, if you’re scrounging for a last-minute Valentine’s gift idea, it looks like there’s still time. Sure beats a box of chocolates.
