Star Treatment

While having a fashion designer fret and fuss over you may be an everyday occurrence for starlets and models, it’s an almost impossible luxury for the rest of us. But Denise Hajjar plans to change all that.

Having spent more than 20 years developing both her brand and a loyal clientele at her former South End location, the Boston School of Fashion Design graduate opened a boutique this month in the lobby of the Fairmont Copley Plaza. Measuring about 300 square feet, the jewel-box space offers one-on-one consultation services, day and evening wear, bridal gowns, and custom pieces, all finished with couture touches—from handmade appliqué to delicately hemmed linings—that feel handcrafted, rich, and unique.

Austere pieces are embellished with subtle details like crystal buttons, while fire-engine-red lambskin leather strapless tops and psychedelic Pucci prints on slinky, silky summer dresses would delight any Hollywood glamour girl. You can stock up on these at reduced prices now, or save for the luxe fall/winter collection—its highlights include a textured wool paisley jacket in burgundy, gold, and olive, with a high collar and two-way zipper ($580); burgundy Italian wool slacks ($285); an iridescent olive silk taffeta shirt ($255); and a flouncy, pearlized olive lambskin skirt ($550).

And as you step back into the red-carpeted lobby, don’t be surprised if you hear the clicking of paparazzi shutters in your head. Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel, 138 St. James Ave., Boston, 617-927-5990, denisehajjar.com.
