BFF (Beauty Find Friday): Top 5 Lash-Enhancing Serums

These brush-on beauties give lashes an overnight boost.

No  more thickening-mascara spider eyes or pricey single-lash extensions. Yes, the are-you-there-God-it’s-me-Margaret set who wish for longer lashes can rejoice. There’s an eye-popping number of lash enhancers on the beauty market, perfect for growing them long and lovely for your big day.

While some formulas require a prescription—like Latisse, an FDA-approved treatment to grow lashes longer, fuller, and darker through its active ingredient brimonidine—there are products out there that’ll help you get luxe lashes sans Rx.

The ingredient list is important. When choosing a lash-enhancing serum, look for polypeptides, proteins, minerals, and vitamins. Biotin is known for its effectiveness on the nails and hair.

Most of these treatments show lash improvement in four to eight weeks of nightly usage, so start brushing them on in the months before your wedding.

Shiseido Full Lash Serum: This luxury line just launched its first lash-and-brow enhancer. This is no joke, since it sold out in the blink of an eye during its 2014 Japan debut. A day and night formula, it boasts main ingredient arginine (an essential amino acid found in the lupin plant) to take care of your hair. $35, available at Sephora stores.

LiLash Purified Eyelash Serum: This clear concoction contains a powerful conditioning formula that helps to reduce lash brittleness and prevent breakage. $150, available at Lash L’Amour, 129 Newbury St., Boston.

RevitaLash Advanced 3.5: A big name in hair growth, this lash serum joins its popular eyebrow growth formula. It combines technology with natural botanicals with its BioPeptin Complex to combat aging and stressed lashes. $98, available at Salon Eva Michelle, 118 Newbury St., Boston.

MyChelle Ultimate Lash & Brow Serum: The peptide complex in this all-natural lash enhancer stimulates keratin (what our eyebrows and lashes are made of). $62.50, available at Whole Foods stores.

Peter Thomas Roth Lashes to Die for Turbo: This beauty hat trick targets the three phases of hair growth with peptides. It gives you tons of lash love, with increases in length, thickness, density, and fullness. $85, available at Sephora stores.
